Trump's peace-driven initiative plays key role, Azerbaijani speaker says

US President Donald Trump's peace- and cooperation-oriented initiative holds significant importance, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), said during a special session titled "Washington Agreements: A Triumph of Peace Diplomacy and Wise Leadership," held as part of the parliament's extraordinary session, Report informs.

She emphasized the importance of establishing strong US-Azerbaijan relations:

"Hostile plots against our country were skillfully prevented. The signing of a joint declaration and the initialing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, witnessed by Trump, represents a victory for justice and fairness," Gafarova said.
