Baku. 10 October. REPORT.AZ/ The UN welcomes the Presidential Decree on establishment of the National Coordination Council on Sustainable Development in Azerbaijan.
Report informs, a statement by the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan says.
“We are encouraged to see that the Government is creating the National Coordination Council on Sustainable Development, as a commitment to working towards the effective implementation of the global goals.
The United Nations System in Azerbaijan is ready to support the Council in its aim to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and looks forward to an inclusive process that includes the civil society and other segments of the Azerbaijani society”, the statement declares.
The document reads, “Azerbaijan, along with 193 United Nations Member States, endorsed the 2030 Agenda at the UN Summit in September 2015, committing itself to taking the bold and transformative steps, which are urgently needed to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path, and, while embarking on this collective journey, pledging that no one will be left behind.”
