The Council of Europe refutes the reports published in the Armenian media regarding the visit to Strasbourg of the so-called “ombudsman of NKR”

Answering the question of the France-based rapporteur of the “Report” Agency, the press service of the Council of Europe stated that to the best of their knowledge, the person in question had “no meetings with Council of Europe officials” and neither did he undertake a “working visit”.

It was also clarified that “his presence did not have any official status of the Council of Europe”.

Furthermore, itwas emphasized by the Council of Europe press service that “the Council of Europe fully respects, and remains committed to, the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all member States within their internationally recognised borders, including Azerbaijan”.
