Speaker: Time has come for New Caledonia to regain its independence

“The words of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, are important support for the independence of the Kanak people. I thank the head of state of Azerbaijan for his statement on colonialism at the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM),” Rock Wamytan, the President of the Congress of New Caledonia, told Report.

He said that New Caledonia must regain its independence: "The time has come for this. The Kanak people have been under colonial rule for over 160 years and it must be stopped."
