Slovenia honors memory of Mehdi Huseynzada

On May 7, in Sempas, Slovenia’s Minister of Environment, Climate, and Energy, Bojan Kumer, attended a memorial ceremony honoring legendary intelligence officer Mehdi Huseynzada, known by his alias Mikhaylo, the Slovenian Ministry of Environment, Climate, and Energy, said on social media, Report informs.
During the event, the minister laid a wreath in his memory.
"The memory of Mehdi Huseynzada serves as a strong bridge of friendship between Slovenia and Azerbaijan," the ministry stated.
In his speech, Minister Kumer highlighted the symbolic significance of Mikhaylo’s heroism and the importance of international cooperation.
"These days mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Such anniversaries remind us that the peace we enjoy today in Slovenia is not a given. People like Mehdi fought for it. Therefore, our duty is to honor their memory—not only with words but also through actions," Kumer said.
