Zelensky: Relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are time-proved

"Relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are time-proved," Volodymyr Zelensky said following a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

Report informs citing the official website of the President of Ukraine that Zelensky said Azerbaijan and Ukraine had always helped each other in difficult moments, in very difficult periods of modern history. 

"This means that Azerbaijan has been and remains a reliable friend for Ukraine, and I am sure that it will be a strategic partner, " Zelensky said.

He noted that the negotiations between the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani delegations took place in an atmosphere of mutual sincerity and trust and both countries support each other in restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.

"We will continue to work together in this direction both in the bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations," the President of Ukraine said.

Volodymyr Zelensky expressed confidence that the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian relations will further strengthen and reach a new level.

"Our countries demonstrate close positions on many issues - both at the regional and global levels. So I sincerely wish success to Azerbaijan's presidency in GUAM - it will be in 2020," he concluded.
