There are many promising areas for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt, Egypt’s acting minister of international cooperation, Rania Al Mashat, told journalists, Report’s employee from Cairo informs.
“We’re very happy to receive President Ilham Aliyev here in Egypt. Egypt and Azerbaijan have very strong relationships. There are many areas of cooperation that are very promising. It includes infrastructure, oil and gas, the ICT sector and also pharmaceuticals,” she noted.
“I expect in the period ahead to see more cooperation in these areas. We also hosted a mission from businessmen and government officials just last month in preparation for this presidential visit. And before COP 29, we will have the joint committee between Egypt and Azerbaijan to explore these areas in more detail.
Another very important aspect of cooperation is on COP. Egypt hosted COP 27 two years ago and there are plenty of areas of cooperation in the area of climate change, how to mobilize finance from the international community for climate action,” she noted.
“So, we look forward to the outcomes of this visit and we also look forward to more cooperation, particularly on the business side in the sectors that I mentioned briefly,” she said.
She reminded that during Egypt’s presidency of COP27 many issues were considered, including the creation of a loss and damage fund.
“So, we look forward to an active participation at COP 29 and we congratulate the Azerbaijani people for hosting COP and we wish them good luck with that very, very important conference,” she added.
