Putin calls Macron’s statement on Karabakh ‘incorrect and unacceptable’

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron about the allegedly destructive role of the Russian Federation in Karabakh as incorrect and unacceptable, Report informs.

At a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, Putin noted: “I was surprised to read some of the comments of the French president yesterday.”

“I believe that these statements lack understanding of the course of the conflict,” Putin said, noting that Macron, apparently, does not have information about the position of the parties. “Therefore, they sounded incorrect, I would even say perverted, therefore [they] are unacceptable,” the Russian president added, noting that the Russian Federation has always sincerely sought to resolve any conflicts, including in Karabakh.

“There will be an opportunity - we will discuss [this] with the president of France,” Putin stressed.

Earlier, Macron accused Russia of ‘igniting the conflict’ between Baku and Yerevan. He noted that the goal of the Russian Federation is to further destabilize the situation in the region and in the world.
