The 3 + 3 platform will in many respects allow regional and other key players in the South Caucasus to jointly resolve issues that are significant for them, said Stanislav Pritchin, a senior researcher at the Center for Post-Soviet Studies at the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Report informs.
"The 3 + 3 format perfectly meets the new realities that have arisen in the region after the end of the Second Karabakh War," he noted, adding that the restoration of transport communications is an integral part of the implementation of the ceasefire declaration between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"The question is how to coordinate all these processes? The communications planned to be opened will concern both Turkey and Iran. Therefore, this platform is handy," said Pritchin.
At the same time, he noted that now, unfortunately, the discussions are taking place without the participation of Georgia. However, if soon, thanks to this platform, the relations between Turkey and Armenia are normalized, transport corridors open, and other results are visible, then Georgia will unlikely want to stay out of this platform, he said.
