Presidents of Azerbaijan and Israel hold expanded meeting in Baku

On May 30, a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Israeli President Isaac Herzog began in an expanded format in Baku, Report informs.

During the meeting, the president of Azerbaijan welcomed Isaac Herzog.

"Your visit to Azerbaijan is a historical visit. Thank you for accepting my invitation. I hope you will enjoy your stay. I wish you a pleasant stay in Azerbaijan," Ilham Aliyev said.

The president of Israel, in turn, said that it was a great honor for him to visit Azerbaijan: “We come here with an open heart with great friendships between our nations.”

According to Isaac Herzog, President Ilham Aliyev, following in the footsteps of national leader Heydar Aliyev, created “an incredible place which is a center for so many things, which is anchor for partnership between Israel and Azerbaijan.”

“And many fields which we outlined and so much more we’ve discussed. I think it sends a message to our peoples. On many levels. First, I believe that it sends a message that Jews and Muslims can do great things together. If they to move for peace together, if they have an open dialogue together and if they can do good to the world together. Secondly, its strategic relationship, because we impact the entire region towards the directions of peace and prosperity and development. Thank you very much for that,” the Israeli president noted.
