President: Azerbaijan has been actively advocating new era of peace and cooperation in Caucasus

Azerbaijan has been actively advocating the new era in the Caucasus, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the meeting with participants of the international conference 'South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation,' Report informs.

The head of state said that during the conference its participants have been informed about Azerbaijan's plans to rebuild Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur:

"The plans are large scale and we are implementing with our own resources allocating the financial resources of our budget and with a support of international companies.

"One of the most important tasks was to strengthen new realities and to work with international organizations to present our case and our vision for the region. It was also very important that the leading international organizations accept the new relatities on the ground and it happened.

"In the meantime we have been actively advocating the new era in the Caucasus: era of peace and cooperation. Finally we got the positive response from Armenia recently. The government accepted 5 basic principles which Azerbaijan has put forward - the principles which should be a foundation for the peace agreement with Armenia."
