Political consultations held between Azerbaijani, Indonesian MFAs

On December 6, the third bilateral political consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia (Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Indonesia), the "3rd Political Planning Dialogue," was held in Jakarta, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The delegations were led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, and on the other side by the head of the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Director General Dr. Yayan GH Mulyana.

During the political consultations, discussions were held on the current situation and future prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, including political, economic, trade, cultural, educational, and consular issues. Also, prospects of cooperation within the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, OIC, ASEAN/AIPA were discussed.

During the discussions, Elnur Mammadov noted that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and that during these years, Azerbaijan and Indonesia have formed a cooperation agenda in various fields, both bilaterally and multilaterally, and that there is a wide potential for the further development of relations. He expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's continuous support to Azerbaijan, including support during the 44-day Patriotic War.

Elnur Mammadov gave detailed information to the Indonesian side about new developments in the region in the post-conflict period, restoration and construction works carried out in the territories of Azerbaijan freed from occupation. He briefed his counterparts about the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the advancement of Azerbaijan's peace agenda, the opening of communications, and at the same time he pointed out that the provocations committed by Armenia pose a threat to ensuring peace and tranquility in the region.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
