Poland's Foreign Minister: I will make every effort to develop ties with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau as part of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

Report informs citing the Foreign Ministry, that the ministers discussed various issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, including the successful continuation of political dialogue, expansion of economic cooperation, the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Poland.

They stressed the need to further deepen bilateral relations between the two countries and continue joint efforts in this direction.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, including participation in the Eastern Partnership.

The parties exchanged views on Poland's chairmanship in the OSCE next year and cooperation within the OSCE.

Jeyhun Bayramov told his counterpart about the new realities in the region after the 44-day war and the current situation in security, and the implementation of the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020. He noted that Azerbaijan had begun restoration and construction work in the liberated territories.

The Foreign Minister stated that Armenia is still an obstacle to stability in the region and continues its provocations.

Stressing his country's interest in developing relations with Azerbaijan, Zbigniew Rau noted that Azerbaijan is an important partner for Poland, and he will make every effort to develop these relations in all spheres.
