Podolyak: Azerbaijan supports Kyiv

"The choice is obvious. Azerbaijan supports us," Mykhailo Podolyak, Adviser to the Head of the Ukrainian President's Office, told Report.

He said that every free person has a precise position regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war and takes only the side of Kyiv:

"I am not ready to speak specifically about the representatives of this or that nation because only they, as citizens of another country, have the right to talk about their choices. Many free people support Ukraine in humanitarian, ideological, and informational forms. These states consider it their duty to support Ukraine. We are currently discussing energy support since Russia does not hide that it will fight this war until the end. They want to freeze millions of people by destroying the energy structure because we see that they are an absolutely absurd cartoon army on the battlefield. They fight with the majority. All countries that understand this, including Azerbaijan, support us. The choice is obvious."

Podolyak emphasized that there is no need to listen to the speeches of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his serious statement that they are not the ones to blame for the war:

"Lavrov should be charged because this person came here to kill people in 2014 and to destroy people in 2022, and now he is telling absurd stories like 'he is not the one who killed people'. For all countries, including Azerbaijan, it is clear who attacked, what kind of war is going on here, and how Ukraine is suffering. Each country must make the right, historical choice. We will not allow history to be rewritten; therefore, all countries supporting Russia will look extremely negative. It is important for Azerbaijan, aspiring to a more important role in the region, to choose the right side, and I think it has already made this choice."
