Pakistani President: Some countries are evading UN resolutions

"There are many conflicts and military interventions in the world today. This is a threat to the world security," President of Pakistan Arif Alvi said at the XVIII summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku. The President of Pakistan noted that coercion is used as an instrument in interstate relations.

"Climate change, inequality, poverty, the rise of xenophobia, and in particular Islamophobia. Pakistan supports the principles and efforts of the Non-Aligned Movement in the fight against intervention and external intervention and terrorism," Arif Alvi said.

He also noted that people in Kashmir have been subjected to external occupation for over 70 years.

"Their rights to self-determination, approved by the UN are violated. It is necessary to resolve this conflict peacefully on the basis of UN resolutions. Pakistan fully condemns terrorism; international efforts are needed to counter it. It is also necessary to avoid politicizing this issue. Unfortunately, today some countries are evading the implementation of UN resolutions. Durable peace can only be possible when disputes are resolved," he concluded.
