Azerbaijani Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva issued an appeal over provocation of radicals of Armenian origin living in the United States, Report informs.
"Under media reports, radicals of Armenian origin living in the United States hung a photo of Armenian terrorist Gourgen Yanikian, who in 1973, killed Turkish diplomats in California, outside the Azerbaijani consulate in Los Angeles.
“This once again confirms that Armenia continues its provocative actions against Azerbaijan in foreign countries with incitement to hatred, creating obstacles for the implementation of the ideas of sustainable peace and reconciliation between the two peoples.
“I categorically condemn the calls for ethnic violence against Azerbaijan through the organizations of the Armenian diaspora operating abroad. I call on Armenia to refrain from provocative actions aimed at inciting an armed conflict in the region, to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, to follow the principles of mutually beneficial cooperation and good neighborliness and peaceful coexistence."
