New US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State reveals purpose of visit to Azerbaijan

"This is my first visit to Azerbaijan since being appointed to a new position. I am delighted to be here in Azerbaijan," Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State Erika Olson told Report.
She said that the main purpose of her visit is to strengthen relations between Washington and Baku, build friendship and cooperation, as well as work with the countries of the South Caucasus and develop regional ties.
Notably, Olson is on a visit to Azerbaijan and was received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on November 5.
Before coming to Baku, the diplomat visited Armenia and Georgia, met with the leadership of both countries, and held discussions.
