NATO Deputy Secretary General: Azerbaijan a very valuable partner for us

Baku. 5 May. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan is a very valuable partner for us.

Report informs, the NATO Deputy Secretary General for Public Affairs Tacan Ildem told reporters.

He noted that he was very happy to be in Baku. According to him, this is his first visit to Baku at this position.

Tacan Ildem will participate in the IV World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, official opening of which will be held in Baku on May 5.

He also highly appreciated Azerbaijan's participation in the NATO Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan.

NATO deputy secretary stressed that Azerbaijan not only contributed to the mission as a peacemaker, but also as a financial aid to the Trust Fund for Assistance to Afghanistan.

"This contribution of Azerbaijan is very important for the solution of Euro-Atlantic challenges." We highly appreciate cooperation with Azerbaijan", Tacan Ildem said.

The NATO Deputy Secretary recalled that at the moment NATO and Azerbaijan are implementing the fifth stage of the IPAP program and carrying out cooperation in the field of defense and security of scientific research and public diplomacy.

In this regard, he highly appreciated the meeting held this week at NATO Headquarters in Brussels between NATO and representatives of Azerbaijan to discuss the PARP program.
