Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service is a unique model based on human rights and welfare, Najat Zarrouk, Director of the African Local Government Academy (ALGA) and member of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA), told Report.
She shared these insights at an event organized by ASAN Service at the UN headquarters in New York: "In 2015, when ASAN Service was nominated for a UN award, I had the opportunity to review and evaluate that process. I have also had the opportunity to visit Azerbaijan several times. The ASAN Service model is a source of pride for your country."
Zarrouk added that she has personally experienced the activities of ASAN Service: "This experience is based on human rights, human dignity, and welfare. ASAN Service provides services to citizens through various ways, in a sincere and transparent environment. I have personally visited several ASAN Service centers and witnessed the intelligent use of technology."
The director also highlighted that she particularly appreciates the volunteering system of ASAN Service:
"ASAN Service gives young people the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of public services, as well as employment opportunities. Another important aspect is the principle of inclusivity, which makes services accessible to people with disabilities, the elderly, and people living in remote regions of the country. This is truly a model worthy of being implemented worldwide."
