MP: Azerbaijan has fulfilled all its obligations, while Armenia is trying to delay it with excuses

"The geopolitical realities that have arisen in the region after the Second Karabakh war have opened up new opportunities for lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan has fulfilled all its obligations in the tripartite statement signed on November 10, 2020. But Armenia, as usual, is trying to delay it with various excuses," Soltan Mammadov, a member of the Milli Majlis (parliament), told Report.

According to him, the results of the 44-day war, at the same time, the post-war processes showed how much stronger Azerbaijan is than Armenia in military and economic terms:

"Turning the territories occupied by Armenia for 30 years into ruins, the complete disruption of the infrastructure, and the destruction of residential areas express the essence of this country. Today, Azerbaijan is implementing large projects, building airports and roads in the liberated territories. It builds smart villages and new and modern cities. I think that the facts I mentioned are not only an indicator of the difference between the states of Azerbaijan and Armenia but also are enough to see who are the real owners of these lands."

Mammadov noted that today's events in various regions and significant changes in the system of international relations show that new world order is being formed:

"I think that significant changes are taking place in the nature of the system of international relations. Pragmatism, military and economic potential, predictable foreign policy, and relations based on mutual trust have become the main factors determining the content of diplomatic relations today. From this point of view, now the geopolitical conditions completely favor Azerbaijan."

The parliamentarian said that there are better conditions and opportunities for the integration of Armenians living in the territories of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed:

"This is a new situation and shows that a different process is starting. As Mr. President Ilham Aliyev also mentioned, the power of the Azerbaijani authorities to influence the Armenians living in Karabakh is increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate this new situation correctly, accept the realities, and adapt prospective steps to these realities. The sooner the Armenian government and the Armenians living in the Azerbaijani territories where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed understand this, the better. The analysis of economic, military, political and other factors clearly shows who is working in favor of time."
