The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) conference "Parliamentary Oversight: The Power to Hold to Account" has  kicked off in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia.

Report's local bureau informs that parliamentarians of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are attending the two-day regional meeting.

Azerbaijan is represented in the international event by OSCE PA vice-president and member of the Bureau Azay Guliyev, MPs Asim Mollazade and Sevinj Fataliyeva.

The conference will focus on best practices in strengthening the oversight function of the legislative body and discuss the importance of effective oversight.

The conference is co-organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Georgian Parliament and the National Democracy Institute. International organizations and civil society representatives also participate in the event.
