Libby: US is glad to work with Azerbaijan to achieve common goal at COP29

The United States is glad to work with Azerbaijan to achieve a common goal at the COP29 climate conference in Baku, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby said at the event dedicated to the 248th anniversary of his country's independence, Report informs.

"US assistance to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Southern Gas Corridor projects is one of the most notable joint achievements in the energy sector. In the first decades of the US-Azerbaijani energy partnership, the US provided significant support in the development of the concept, the construction and commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor," he said.

According to the ambassador, Baku's hosting of COP29 this year is the next stage of the Azerbaijan-US partnership: "We are glad to partner with Azerbaijan to support the common goal - to make COP29 a success. This event will speed up the fulfillment of our commitments and boost our future ambitions in terms of funding."
