Kremlin: Withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh meets realities in region

Azerbaijan and Armenia are working on a peace treaty, but there are still unagreed articles, Russian Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, the Russian bureau of Report informs.

He also noted that the leaders of the two countries continue negotiations on border delimitation, emphasizing that some of the issues have already been agreed upon.

Peskov stated that the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan corresponds to the prevailing realities in the region.

“This (the withdrawal of the peacekeepers - ed.) corresponds to the current realities that have developed in the region after Armenia recognized the borders of Azerbaijan as of 1991. The geopolitical realities there have changed, and there are no more functions left for them,” Peskov added.
