The 3+3 format is an actual variant of unblocking communications and creating a single economic space of the South Caucasus, Igor Korotchenko, a military expert and an editor-in-chief of the Natsionalnaya Oborona magazine, told Report's Russian bureau.
The expert expressed hope that the absence of alternatives to peaceful and economic initiatives will become evident for Armenia, despite Georgia's refusal to participate in the first meeting.
"It is necessary to launch the Zangazur transport corridor project as soon as possible, which will have an extraterritorial status. The most important thing is to unblock communications and economic interconnection of the countries in the region, which will contribute to the peace process based, first of all, on the observance of the obligations that Armenia assumed within the framework of the trilateral statement and following the results of the Sochi summit," Korotchenko said.
He also stressed that Pashinyan and his entourage have no desire to quickly and effectively implement the agreements reached during the Sochi meeting.
"Nevertheless, Armenia's involvement in the practical mechanism of the 3 + 3 format gives cautious optimism that Armenia's fulfillment of its obligations will be fully implemented in 2022," he said.
