Javid Gurbanov: Azerbaijan pays special attention to development of North-South corridor

Azerbaijan pays special attention to the development of the North-South transport corridor, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Javid Gurbanov said during a conference in Astrakhan dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev.

According to him, Azerbaijan has already completed all work on the implementation of this project.

"Last year, 3.5 million tons of cargo was transported along the North-South and North-West directions, with the North-West corridor accounting for the bigger part," he said.

According to Gurbanov, the deepening of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is not an accident, but the result of the great contribution of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin: "However, the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev was, of course, at the origins of these relations."

The deputy minister stressed that one of the main priority areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan region is the development of transport links.
