International Court to hold hearings on Azerbaijan's lawsuit against Armenia in December

The International Court of Justice of the United Nations will hold public hearings on December 18-19, 2021, on the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Azerbaijan v. Armenia).

Report informs that the hearings will consider Azerbaijan's request on the application of temporary measures.

In connection with the coronavirus pandemic, the hearings will take part in a hybrid format. Some court members will be present in the courtroom, while others will be connected via video link.

Azerbaijan filed with the UN International Court of Justice against Armenia for violations of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

Azerbaijan asked the court to bring Armenia to justice for violations of the convention, compensate the country and its people for the damage caused, and take certain urgent temporary measures against Armenia.
