Hikmat Hajiyev: Azerbaijan and EU discuss elimination of visa regime

Baku. 14 April. REPORT.AZ/ Spokesman of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affaris Hikmat Hajiyev commented on possibility of cancellation of visas between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

Hikmat Hajiyev told Report that cancellation of visas for Azerbaijan citizens by European Union is among topics discussed within the EU-Azerbaijan cooperation.

“EU-Azerbaijan agreement on visa simplification and readmission is in force for several years. Successful cooperation within frame of mentioned agreement creates favorable conditions for next phase of discussions over visa issue”, ministry spokesperson told.

According to him, it is not excluded that cancellation of visas will be considered within frame of negotiated new partnership agreement between Azerbaijan and EU.

Notably, first round of talks on strategic partnership agreement between Azerbaijan and EU will start in Baku, April 25.
