Fuad Huseynaliyev: 'SPECA summit is a message reflecting the unity of Turkic states'

The summit of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) is also a message reflecting the unity of Turkic states from a political point of view, Fuad Huseynaliyev, Director of the Report News Agency said on Baku TV.

According to him, the SPECA summit has expanded and shifted from an economic to a political format.

"The fact that the summit was hosted in Azerbaijan has generally increased the importance of SPECA in connection with the processes taking place in the world recently. If we look at the map, we will see that the SPECA countries are located on a route called the Middle Corridor. The presence of the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Hungary among guests who visited Baku, indicates that a new perspective for the development of SPECA is opening up within the framework of the Middle Corridor. The speeches of the guests who arrived at the summit indicate that being aware of the importance the Middle Corridor represents, the SPECA countries want to organize work on its further development," Huseynaliyev said.

He noted that the importance of SPECA is currently increasing.

"Given that many countries included in SPECA are Turkic states, I think that this is also a message reflecting the unity of the Turkic states from a political point of view. However, let's take into account that since SPECA is a purely economic association and is focused on economics, the development of the Middle Corridor will make a greater contribution to the economy and unity of these countries," the head of the news agency said.
