Fuad Chiragov: Armenia must stop creating obstacles to integration of Armenians in Karabakh

In order to normalize relations with Azerbaijan, Armenia must stop creating obstacles to the integration of the Armenians of Karabakh into Azerbaijani society, Deputy Director of the Center for South Caucasus Studies Fuad Chiragov said, speaking at the symposium “The Third Anniversary of the Great Victory: Challenges and Prospects of the Post-Conflict Period,” Report informs.

“Armenia must fulfill Azerbaijan’s conditions, that is, stop interfering in the internal affairs of our country, put an end to territorial claims and threats,” he noted.

He added that Azerbaijan is now going through a historic period: “We won the war, liberated our territories. However, establishing peace in the post-conflict period seems very difficult.”

According to Chiragov, the timing of signing a peace treaty depends on the further actions of both countries. The position of the international community on this issue is also very important, he said.
