Expert: Opening of Azerbaijani embassy in Israel to contribute to region’s prosperity

The opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel creates opportunities for joint work between the two countries to confront challenges and develop a common policy that will lead to regional prosperity and security, US journalist, national security analyst, lawyer Irina Zuckerman told Report.

“The embassy will promote a more active exchange of ideas, establishing contacts between people, as well as increasing the volume of trade, strengthening cooperation in the field of medicine, education, agriculture, energy and many others,” Zuckerman said.

She noted that Israel and Azerbaijan have a number of common interests - from countering common threats to cooperation in the field of art and culture, renewable energy, digital innovation, transition to a digital economy, reconstruction and construction of smart cities.

“Israel and Azerbaijan have a lot in common, including in terms of the process of rebuilding the territories. Both countries have the necessary experience and can share it with each other,” Zuckerman concluded.

On March 29, the official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel took place in Tel Aviv. The event was attended by Azerbaijani and Israeli foreign ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Eli Cohen, as well as representatives of the parliaments and the public of both countries.
