EU spokesman urges for confidence-building measures between Azerbaijan and Armenia

The incidents on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border confirm the need to take measures to build confidence between the countries, Spokesman for the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano wrote on his Twitter page, as quoted by Report.

“Latest exchange of fire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with reported deaths and wounded reconfirms the necessity for a distancing of forces and confidence building measures. EU is working with both sides to promote a comprehensive settlement of the conflict,” his tweet reads.

As a result of another provocation committed by the armed forces of Armenia at noon on January 11, Ayaz Nazarov Azar oglu, a serviceman of extra-urgent active military service, died on the Kalbajar direction of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border.
