EU - Azerbaijan cooperation discussed in Baku

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Maciej Popowski, acting Director-General of the European Union's Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The sides exchanged views on some issues of the Azerbaijan - EU cooperation agenda, especially the prospects of relations on the eve of the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted his participation in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries in Brussels, as well as bilateral meetings with EU officials, and said that opportunities for cooperation in various fields were discussed.

Popowski spoke with satisfaction about his meetings in Baku, as well as the "Mixed Finance" training. He noted that this event is important for identifying existing and untapped potential in cooperation.

The parties also discussed the participation of EU financial institutions in the restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
