Elmar Mammadyarov met with Turkish foreign minister

Baku. 28 August. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Antalya.

Report was told in press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meeting between E. Mammadyarov and M. Cavusoglu took place within the framework of the trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.

During the meeting, exchanged views on issues relating to bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including recent terrorist acts in Turkey strongly condemned and expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs who were victims of terrorism.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the start of operations of the railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which will promote the development of cooperation in the region, the growth of commerce and trade.

It was pointed out that after the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum projects TAP and TANAP will play an important role in Europe's energy security so that, energy picture in the region will be changed.

It is also noted that the exercises with the participation of Turkish and Azerbaijani armed forces, and military cooperation between the two brotherly countries in general helps to increase the operational capacity and strengthens regional peace and security.

Participants of the meeting stated that, unresolved Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over the unconstructive position of Armenia is a major obstacle to the establishment of peace and security in South Caucasus region.

The importance of such trilateral meetings with participation of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan was pointed, which contribute to the development of cooperation between the three countries in political, economic, humanitarian, energy, transport and other spheres.

Discussions on regional and international issues of mutual interest was held at the meeting.
