Elmar Mammadyarov: Azerbaijan's foreign policy is balanced and inclusive

Baku. 6 August. REPORT.AZ / "Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in the sphere of visa facilitation is developing successfully and will meet the interests of both sides".

Report informs, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told in an interview to RIA Novosti, commenting on signing of the new EU - Azerbaijan agreement.

"The dialogue between Azerbaijan and the EU has been conducted on the basis of equality and mutually beneficial cooperation of the parties for a long time. The contacts with the EU leadership held in Brussels recently demonstrated the loyalty and justification of similar approach. The process is developing in the right direction and will lead us to signing of a "big agreement" between two equal partners - Azerbaijan and the European Union," Mammadyarov said.

Speaking about visa facilitation, the Minister recalled that at the moment the republic already has a working mechanism with the EU for simplified visa issuance.

"Cooperation in this area is successfully developing and will reach the level that will meet the interests of both sides," he added.

Commenting on the issue of further balanced foreign policy, Mammadyarov pointed out that the foreign policy of Azerbaijan does not stems from the principle of "or - or", but has a balanced, multi-sectoral and inclusive character.

"We are confident that following this course will continue to yield fruit and will serve the good of our people, as well as the region as a whole," the Foreign Minister added.
