Eka Tkeshelashvili: Direct contacts between Baku and Yerevan are more effective for signing peace treaty

Direct contacts between the Azerbaijani and Armenian officials can have a more effective impact on the normalization of relations and signing of a peace treaty, former deputy prime minister of Georgia Eka Tkeshelashvili told Report.

“Georgia can play a role in the normalization of relations as a country that is strategically connected to Azerbaijan and maintains good neighborly relations with Armenia. But now it is more important to provide direct contacts. The efforts of the Azerbaijani government in this direction have been successful. Therefore, mediation in negotiations is no longer relevant,” she said.
