Egyptian envoy: Azerbaijan successfully chairs Non-Aligned Movement

Egypt appreciates Azerbaijan’s successful chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement, Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid said at the conference “The Role of the African Continent in the Non-Aligned Movement” dedicated to Africa Day, Report informs.

“We must work on the social welfare of the region and the contribution of the Non-Aligned Movement to this process is irreplaceable. Now there is a new reality in the world, new priorities, the focus should be on sustainable peace and the development of the entire African continent,” the Egyptian ambassador said.

The Non-Aligned Movement, the largest international organization after the UN, celebrated its 60th anniversary last year. The organization, whose activities are based on the principles of strengthening peace and global solidarity, is currently chaired by Azerbaijan.
