Chilean MP commends Azerbaijan's role in fighting pandemic

Azerbaijan has shown itself perfectly well as part of its chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement, Chilean MP Sofía Cid Versalovic said in an interview with Report.

"The Non-Aligned Movement is an important platform as it is the second largest organization in the world after the UN. Azerbaijan has also played an important role in the fight against the pandemic, and has shown great solidarity by helping other countries gain equal access to vaccines. We really appreciate it," said the Chilean MP.

Sofía Cid Versalovic noted that despite the geographical distance between Chile and Azerbaijan, good relations have developed, and the countries are ready to continue strengthening economic cooperation, including in renewables.

On June 30 of this year, a delegation of Chilean parliamentarians visited Baku to participate in the Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network under the motto "Boosting the role of national parliaments in promoting global peace and sustainable development".

The delegation included deputies of the Chilean parliament Sofia Cid Versalovic and Thomas de Rementeria, as well as Chargé d'Affaires of Chile in Azerbaijan Fidel Coloma.
