Chairman of Russian State Duma visits Alley of Honor and Alley of Martyrs

The delegation led by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, visited the Alley of Honor on September 26, commemorated Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of Azerbaijan, the architect and founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan, and laid a wreath of flowers on his grave.

Report informs that prominent ophthalmologist-scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated, and flowers were laid on her grave.

The delegation members also visited the Alley of Martyrs, paid tribute to the heroes of the Motherland who lost their lives in the struggle for the freedom and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, laid flowers on their graves, and laid a wreath in front of the "Eternal Flame" monument.

In the end, the guests, who were watching the view of the capital of Azerbaijan from the highest point of Baku, were informed about the history of the Alley of Martyrs and the improvement and construction works carried out in the capital of the country.
