Center CEO calls on representatives of all faiths to unite to fight Islamophobia

Islamophobia is an issue affecting every aspect of life and not only Muslims but also representatives of other religions should come together to tackle it, Jannah Scott, the CEO of the American Center for Religious Freedom told Report.

"We can no longer be silent about the fact that Muslims are being discriminated against in horrible ways. As an African-American woman, I know this deeply, from my own tradition, and I know that there were allies from across the globe who spoke up against the treatment of African-Americans. Now it's our turn, whether we're Christian, whether we're Muslim, whatever faith tradition, to stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters to say this is unacceptable," she said.

Jannah Scott noted that the international conference held in Baku today is 'an important first step in that we're beginning to document the issues.'

"We're hearing from people from all over the world about what's happening in different countries. Once you have documented information, then you can begin to work together to craft global solutions. And I believe that's what's going to be the outcome of this conference," she said.

Jannah Scott also thanked President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, as well as other partners, for creating this platform to discuss issues of fighting Islamophobia.
