British lord: Armenia refuses to provide info about missing Azerbaijanis

Deputy Foreign Minister Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon and a number of members of the British House of Lords have expressed support for Azerbaijan’s position in response to the anti-Azerbaijani statement of a member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Armenia Baroness Caroline Cox, Report informs with reference to the UK Parliament.

According to Lord Hussain, the recent clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan necessitate the acceleration of the process of normalization and establishment of peace between the two countries under the auspices of the EU and the signing of a peace agreement.

In turn, Lord David Evans drew attention to the problem of mine-planting in Azerbaijani territories and thanked the British government for financial assistance for mine clearance in Azerbaijan.

He noted that as a result of mine explosions in Azerbaijan, 260 civilians were injured. “Obviously, this is an ongoing human tragedy,” he said, adding that “3,890 Azerbaijanis are still missing, about whom Armenia refuses to disclose any information.”

In turn, Baroness Uddin stressed that despite the conclusion of a trilateral ceasefire agreement in 2020, the Armenian side has not yet provided information about the missing Azerbaijanis.
