BIG: France boycotts UN decolonization measures

Baku Initiative Group (BIG) has held eight international conferences since its inception, and the main purpose of these events is to shed light on the problems of territories suffering from colonialism, BIG Executive Director Abbas Abbasov said at the conference titled "French Polynesia's right to decolonization: challenges and perspectives" held at the Parliament of Azerbaijan on May 30, Report informs.

He noted that Azerbaijan's position in international organizations and its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement are the biggest contribution to the fight against the decolonization process.

Abbasov said that a memorandum was signed between BIG and Tavini Huiraatira Party at the last Vienna conference:

"This memorandum includes cooperation between the two organizations not only on the political level, but also in the field of health and education. I am sure that we will continue to cooperate with Tavini Huiraatira Party in the future. Every year, the UN holds events related to decolonization, and France keeps boycotting them."
