The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Azerbaijan Andrei Ravkov has arrived in Ganja.

According to Report's Western Bureau, he met with the head of the Ganja City Executive Power Niyazi Bayramov, visited the areas destroyed due to Armenian rocket attack, and visited the Ganja Automobile Plant.

Bayramov said he was pleased to see Ambassador Andrei Ravkov in Ganja and wished him success in his diplomatic activities. The diplomat said he was visiting Ganja for the first time and thanked Bayramov for the warm reception.

The sides focused on Azerbaijan-Belarus relations, emphasizing the importance of further developing relations between the two countries in industry, culture, education, and other fields. They noted that Ganja Automobile Plant is the flagship of Azerbaijani-Belarusian cooperation in the field of industry. For many years, the plant has been actively cooperating with leading Belarusian equipment manufacturers in tractors, cars, utilities, and special-purpose equipment.

During his diplomatic career, the Ambassador said he would spare no effort to develop bilateral relations in many areas.

After the meeting, Andrei Ravkov visited the areas destroyed by the Armenian shelling of Ganja. Niyazi Bayramov informed the Ambassador that during the Patriotic War, the Armenian army fired at Ganja several times on five different days - October 4, 5, 8, 11, and 17. As a result, 26 civilians, including children and women, were killed, and more than 120 civilians were injured. Numerous civil infrastructure facilities and vehicles were severely damaged.

The Belarusian Ambassador got acquainted with the consequences of Armenian atrocities on the spot and laid a wreath around the destroyed apartment building to commemorate the killed civilians. He expressed frustration with the incidents and condemned the terrorist attacks targeting civilians.
