ADA University has hosted an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the permanent mission of Azerbaijan in the United Nations.
According to Report, ADA University Rector Hafiz Pashayev shared his memories of working with the Azerbaijan's first representative to the UN, Ambassador Hasan Hasanov, particularly noting Hasanov's high professional qualities as a diplomat.
Azerbaijan's first representative to the UN, Ambassador Hasan Hasanov spoke about the beginning of the work of the Azerbaijani delegation in this organization on May 6, 1992. In his book "Diplomacy under the roar of guns" devoted to this issue, Hasanov described the mission's formation, activities, and tasks against the backdrop of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
According to him, the UN adopted several documents and resolutions condemning the occupation of the territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia and calling for Armenia's withdrawal from these lands.
"The Minsk Group has tried to ignore these UN documents for many years," Hasan Hasanov said. At the same time, he recalled that the UN documents remain in force, no matter what Armenia and the Minsk Group try to do, and Azerbaijan, having returned its territories, in fact, fulfilled the points of the mentioned resolutions.
