"The statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry accusing Azerbaijan of historical and territorial claims is another nonsense," said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Leyla Abdullayeva, Report informs.
"The comments of Armenia, which considers the history its 'strong' side, has already become a source of jokes. It still makes territorial claims against its neighbors based on 'historical' fantasies, which is not wise for the smallest and weakest country in the region. We would like to remind the Armenian side that thousands of Armenians still live in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, and other cities of Azerbaijan. If Armenia did not have territorial claims and aggression against Azerbaijan, this figure would be very high.
"As for the claims about Trophy Park, the Military Trophy Park in Baku is a symbol of the victory of law and justice over the aggressor. The fortifications built by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and demonstrated in the park evidence that this country has been pursuing hypocrisy in settlement of the conflict for decades. Calling the park a 'monument to revanchism,' the Armenian Foreign Ministry forgets that Armenia has erected monuments to many terrorists and war criminals, unlike Azerbaijan. So why not these monuments, but the monuments to Holocaust and Mahatma Gandhi were vandalized in Armenia?!
"In conclusion, we would like to emphasize that there is no need for a new 'invention' of Armenia, the author of countless 'discoveries' in history, to ensure peace and security in the region, to normalize relations between the two countries," Abdullayeva added.
