Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry responds to Nikol Pashinyan

Another statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the “tense humanitarian situation” in the region during his speech at a government meeting on August 11 does not fit into any framework, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said commenting on the statements voiced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to Report.

During his speech, the Armenian prime minister regarded the non-acceptance of goods sent by Armenia in the direction of Lachin under the guise of "humanitarian cargo" as "ethnic cleansing" against residents of Armenian nationality.

The Foreign Ministry notes that the prime minister of the country, which committed mass killings of Azerbaijanis as a result of the occupation of about 20 percent of the Azerbaijani lands, has no moral right to accuse Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing.

"If, as stated, the Armenian residents really need essential goods, then the Aghdam-Khankandi road, proposed by Azerbaijan and supported by international partners, can be used for this. Instead of spreading unfounded statements about the 'humanitarian crisis' and committing provocations against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the Armenian side should strive for peace and stability in the region," the Foreign Ministry said.
