Azerbaijani Foreign Minister thanks Turkmenistan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has made a statement on behalf of the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) at a video event dedicated to the opening ceremony of the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Report informs that after expressing gratitude to Turkmenistan for this important initiative, the minister welcomed the adoption of UN General Assembly Resolution No. 73/338 of September 12, 2019.

Since assistance and support for international peace is a critical issue for NAM, including at the 18th summit in Baku in October 2019, the heads of state and government of the movement member states reaffirmed the reliability of the goals and principles of the UN Charter, the norms and principles of international law, which are indispensable in ensuring peace and security, the rule of law, economic development and social progress, and in the protection and promotion of all human rights.

The NAM members noted their determination to work in the name of a multipolar world by strengthening the UN and multilateral processes, which is invaluable for ensuring the interests of the nations and humanity.
