Azerbaijani FM meets EU special envoy

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received a delegation of the EU led by Special Envoy for the Eastern Partnership Dirk Schuebel, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The meeting participants provided information on the existing mine risk and stressed the importance of the efforts of the EU and member states to eliminate it.

Speaking about the growing role of Azerbaijan as an energy supplier against the backdrop of today’s geopolitical realities, the head of the European Union delegation highly appreciated the country’s contribution to the diversification of the EU energy supply, strengthening the access of European consumers to uninterrupted, affordable and clean energy.

Also, at the meeting, confidence was expressed that the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan would pave the way for broader cooperation within the Eastern Partnership.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the modernization of the Eastern Partnership, new opportunities, as well as other topical issues.
