The interview of Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Mammad Talibov on the reconstruction work carried out by Azerbaijan in the liberated territories, the existing obstacles in this direction, and the post-conflict situation in the region was aired on the Mexican radio channel MVS, which has a multi-million listener audience, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico told Report.

In his interview, the ambassador stated that as a result of the 44-day war, Azerbaijan managed to liberate its internationally recognized territories from Armenian occupation for nearly 30 years, and the main challenge facing the country is to create conditions for Azerbaijani IDPs to return home.

Speaking about the obstacles to implementing this priority goal, the diplomat said that during the occupation, the residential infrastructure in these areas was destroyed entirely, attempts were made to ruin Azerbaijan's historical and cultural heritage, and mass mining was carried out over a large area.

The Armenian side refuses to provide a map of minefields that continue to claim lives among both military and civilians, in violation of international humanitarian law and its international obligations.

However, in addition to mine clearance in the region, Azerbaijan has already begun long-term and large-scale reconstruction work, including roads, airports, and other important infrastructure projects in the conflict-affected areas. He added that the integration of our citizens of Armenian descent into the country's legal system is one of the tasks ahead.
