Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister visits site of search and rescue operations in Turkiye's Kahramanmaras

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu have visited the site of the search and rescue operations in quake-affected Kahramanmaras.

According to Report's correspondent seconded to Turkiye, Deputy Minister of Emergency Etibar Mirzayev informed Jeyhun Bayramov and Mevlut Cavusoglu about the progress of rescue works.

Both ministers spoke to the people affected by the earthquakes.

A press conference with participation of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkiye is expected to be held in Kahramanmaras.

Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred on February 6 with an interval of 9 hours in the province of Kahramanmaras in southeastern Turkiye. The tremors, followed by hundreds of aftershocks, were felt in 10 provinces of Turkiye and neighboring countries.

According to the latest data, the death toll in Turkiye has exceeded 20,000.
