Azerbaijan addresses request to Iran over embassy attack, foreign ministry spokesman says

The condition of two people injured while trying to resist the armed attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran is satisfactory, Aykhan Hajizada, head of the press service department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, said, Report informs.

He said that the Baku had addressed a request to the Iranian side regarding the full investigation of the terrorist act, the identification of the perpetrators and masterminds of the terrorist attack:

"The Iranian side, as a host country, is directly responsible for ensuring the security and protection of our embassy. It is necessary to implement appropriate measures in this direction.

"It is not a coincidence that the provocations against Azerbaijan in recent months in Iran and relevant media campaigns encourage such attacks against Azerbaijan. It is vital to prevent such attacks and provocations.

"The government of Azerbaijan plans to take measures to evacuate the employees of our embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Appropriate work will be carried out in this regard.

"At the same time, it is necessary to take appropriate measures by Iran to prevent such attacks in the future."
